Mark Warren is the author of MOTOR magazine's bi-monthly Driveability Corner feature as well as a resident WORLDPAC Training Institute (WTI) instructor and manager.
In Mark's February 2013 article he recounts helping a friend with a troublesome Nissian. When the vehicle scan produces no codes, he must create a logical diagnostic strategy to guide him.
Mark begins his article with the follwoing advice:
"Driveability diagnosis is rarely simply checking DTCs, reading a fault tree, then replacing a defective part. It’s wise to follow a consistent diagnostic routine, especially when no codes are recorded."
